Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Software/System Architect to join a team providing a diverse, adaptable development team providing full lifecycle DevSecOps approach integrates all leading industry standard practices to provide development, testing, deployment, and security and operations support. This program will consolidate, reengineer, and sustain a suite of Veteran-facing processes. The candidate must have considerable experience in providing highly specialized applications and operational analysis. Experience in planning and supporting network and computing infrastructure. Have knowledge in networking technologies. Is cognizant, knowledgeable, and contributes to all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, modeling, simulation, testing, integration, documentation and presentation phases.

Sierra7 is a US Small Business Administration (SBA) and Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE)-verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOSB) who provides Federal clients system and technology integration, program management, business process optimization, and enterprise solutions. Position Responsibilities:

• Develop work products utilizing multiple programming languages

• Review and integrate technical and application architecture requirements

• Experience with Spring framework concepts, Spring boot

o REST, SOAP web services

o Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth) multi-threading (concurrency)

o JMS, Schedulers, workflow engines

o Git, maven, CI/CD

o hibernate, Oracle and Postgres databases

o JMeter, unit, functional testing.

o Agile development experience

o Docker, orchestration using Kubernetes

o AWS Cloud, Apache Kafka

o Logging aggregators like (EFK or ELK)

o Splunk, SonarQube, JMeter.

o Data transformation across systems

o BS and JavaS OS Emulator called Helios, Cobol, Scala, JCL, C

• Working knowledge of test-driven development

• Working knowledge of security Tools

• Analyze business needs and user stories to identify technical solutions

• Participate in the requirements definition process to better understand the customer needs

• Create prototypes that demonstrate concepts during sprints

• Ensure team follows established team-developed coding and software tools standards

• Ensure developed work products in adherence to established security and quality control standards for software development

• Develop work products in adherence to 508 coding standards and tools

• Debug and correct code errors

Required Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated success as a Software Architect, showing a track record of creating working product software meeting requirements

• DevOps experience working within a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery program

• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience

• Extensive coding experience - REST, SOAP web services; Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth) multi-threading (concurrency); JMS, Schedulers, workflow engines; Git, maven, CI/CD; hibernate, Oracle and Postgres databases; JMeter, unit, functional testing

• Docker, orchestration using Kubernetes

• AWS Cloud, Apache Kafka

• Splunk, SonarQube, JMeter.

• Data transformation across systems

• BS and JavaS OS Emulator called Helios, Cobol, Scala, JCL, C

• Demonstrated, strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge by providing supportable technical solutions

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Must be able to write software documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, engineering management, math, or similar technical discipline (8 years of experience may be substituted for education)

• 5 years’ relevant experience as a Software Engineer

• Experience in Fortify, SCA tools and DAST

• SAFe development experience a plus

• Experience with JBPM

• .NET, ASP, SharePoint, Tuxedo, C++ is a plus

• Experience working in VA or other Government agency [desired]

• Ability to obtain a Government security clearance

This is a full-time remote position.
