Description

We are currently accepting resumes for a Software Developer in Torrance, CA.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

- Codes and performs unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements

- Codes, tests, and debugs new software or makes enhancements to existing software

- Writes programs according to specifications from higher level staff or business analysts

- Develops technical documentation

- Resolves in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components

- Collaborates with technical staff to learn and understand software problems

- Generates a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques

- Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback

- Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements

- Mentors and coaches less experienced staff

- Maximizes the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs

- Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with inhouse personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions

- Follows established configuration/change control processes

- Responsible for Application Development, Production Support and Enhancement Services for CASS application

- Help determine and capture future business requirements

- Facilitate and coordinates design sessions

- Systems Design and Application Development in an IBM Mainframe environment

- Support System Test, UAT, and project implementation

- Research and Resolve production issues, troubleshooting of online and batch abends

- Support nightly production batch process

- Communicate issues with business and CASS teams

- Application Development and Production Support for multiple large projects

- Research and resolve production issues, troubleshooting of mainframe on-line and batch amends

- Evaluate the daily and monthly batch process to improve performance and

shorten the critical path window

- Perform Impact Analysis across multiple platforms and applications

- Deliver complete documentation for estimates, design and development

Required Skills and Experience:

- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience.

- 5-7 years experience with major DBMS

- 5-7 years experience with coding, testing and design

- 5-7 years experience with software development methodologies

- 5 years Automotive Finance experience with focus on Dealer Financial Services, including Customer Service, Flooring, Wholesale Line of Credit, and Commercial Loans

- Technical Environment Experience: IBM Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, CICS, MQ Series, Visio, Stored ProceduresSQL Server, XML, Quality Center

- 10 plus years’ experience with software development methodologies

- Must be experienced with all types of transmissions and encryptions from IBM zOS mainframe like FTP, SFTP, EDI, NDM, MFT, PGP.

- Must be proficient with COBOL, DB2, MQ, and JCL

- Must have experience with interface data mapping

- Advanced capability in software construction, testing, infrastructure, configuration and operating standards

- Advanced corporate knowledge, and understands how a change would affect multiple applications

- Advanced ability to make recommendations/decisions in application and program design, standards and program enhancements

- Advanced ability to utilize system traces and debugging tools for problem/issue resolution

- Advanced ability to analyze and model business functions, processes and information flow within or between systems

- Advanced ability to provide guidance and mentoring on programming practices and techniques to individuals and crossfunctional teams

- Advanced knowledge of software design, construction, programming trends, programming and scripting languages in multiple application and data management systems

- Advanced ability to work with users at all levels to define system requirements, design and system topologies to meet operational needs and system performance objectives

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Experience in Automotive Finance industry

- Business knowledge of financial services, understanding of financial services automotive lending, Customer Service, Payment Processing, Taxes, End of Term and Extension processes, Collections, Delinquency Tracking, Repossession, Charge Off, Recovery, Bankruptcy, and Accounting.

- Familiarity with test practices and deliverables for unit test

- Excellent programing Direct Report skills in an IBM MF environment
