Role Snapshot

The Senior Cobol Developer is under general supervision and makes modifications to complex applications and will create detailed specifications. This person will lead and assist in design, creation, deployment, and maintenance of programs. They will also demonstrate effective communication skills to interpret needs of clients and work very closely with other Information Systems teams. In our mainframe environment we rely on our senior developers to have recent experience and a strong understanding of CICS. Besides COBOL, we have a robust DB2 environment as well.

* Can organize and send out communication about development activities with other teams, e.g. database management, infrastructure configuration, quality assurance testing.
* Enjoy taking a leadership role on moderately complex projects independently or as part of a larger project team.
* Handle multiple competing initiatives and escalate issues effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

* U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
* Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience
* 1 or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

* 5 or more years of related work experience
* 5 or more years of experience in Information Systems performing development work
* Mainframe coding experience (TSO, JCL, COBOL, CICS, MVS, File-Aid etc.)
* Experience with VSAM files
* Experience with RDBMS (DB2, SQL)
* Experience using multiple operating systems (Windows, Redhat, zOs)
* Knowledge of Control-M
* Experience with Agile Methodology

Your team:

Consists of over 15 Developers working multiple projects focused on our Military Veteran Health (MVH) business lines pertaining specifically to DoD TRICARE health Insurance.

Salary Range

* $95,000 ~ 105,000
* The base pay offered for this position may vary based on your experience, knowledge, skills, and may fall outside the posted range.
