Position Description:

The web-based program is an integrated family of components that serves as the front-end for the Air Forces (AFs) Standard Base Supply System (SBSS). It is used by 18,000 account holders/107,000 consumers at 275 U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard (ANG) fixed operating bases and forward operating locations to provide asset visibility and management of inventory in support the AF flying, nuclear, space, and special operations missions. The complex operational IT environment included 117 interface agreements for 41 automated IT systems executing approximately 200K transactions per day leveraging a high-speed query tool.

The candidate will perform typical software development tasks such as analysis, design, modify/enhance/create code, test, debug while providing proper configuration management of all code baselines.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Develop software using the COBOL programming language.

Develop software for Air Force suite of financial systems including General Accounting and Finance System (IAPS).

Develop, design, and test artifacts to resolve bugs and provided technical solutions for software change requests.

Perform coding, unit test, and continuous integration of software components.

Participate in System Requirements Reviews, Joint Application Design sessions, Peer Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and Test Readiness Reviews.

Support maintenance of system documentation and software code baselines.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor's degree in related field with 7 years experience

Strong experience in COBOL programming language

Must be able to obtain/maintain a NAC (National Agency Check)

Must be US Citizen

Desired:

Experience in UniSys COBOL, UNISYS ECL, Louis, Shared File System, and DMS-1100 on DISA DECC UniSys OS2200 platforms, and

Specific experience in requirements, design, coding, continuous Integration, and testing of Core Financial applications

Possess CompTIA Security+ certification, or be able to obtain it within a three months of start date

Experience with USAF or DoD application development

Familiarity with accounting principles

Experience working with agile software development
