Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Mainframe Cobol Programmer for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

Job Overview:

The Mainframe Cobol Programmer will develop enterprise-level application solutions to include integrating major enhancements, and creating custom interfaces, functions and features all in an IBM z/OS mainframe Cobol environment. The Mainframe Cobol Programmer will serve in an expert technical role. The Mainframe Cobol Programmer requires an advanced to expert-level knowledge and understanding of application systems design and integration. Also will be responsible for the full SDLC to include gathering project requirements and specifications, designing, coding, testing, composing implementation plans, deploying, maintaining, supporting existing application systems, and documenting all aspects of application software and its development. These activities are to be undertaken while using industry-standard software development practices and techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in the environments and skillsets below:
    • Experience in both batch and CICS environments to include expert-level Cobol programming
    • CICS coding experience
    • JCL
    • Eztrieve
    • CICS
    • Maps
    • Mapsets
    • Expediter
    • Abend-Aid
    • File-Aid
