This is an exceptional opportunity for entry-level candidates that want to launch a career in tech – formal education or past experience is not required. Interapt will place select candidates in a comprehensive full-time training over a 12-week period beginning June 20th to ensure success, and sponsor learnings required to obtain Cobol Programming credentials. Once training is successfully completed Interapt will select students to join our team to support one of our key clients.

The Junior Cobol Developer will support a team through the design, development and maintenance of Cobol. They will also maintain a user-centered and “business as a priority” approach in design perspective and practice.

Interapt will provide candidates with a firm understanding of Cobol development principles to be successful in this role. Ideal candidates will bring passion for learning and a strong desire to grow their career in tech. Upon the successful completion of training, Interapt will extend offers for full-time employment opportunities to selected participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and configure code for new programs
  • Test programs to ensure they function on the operating system
  • Implement and maintain adjustments
  • Provide support and upgrades to the user

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working with external clients preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Successful completion of the 12-week course
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • This opportunity is open to candidates residing within the Metro Cincinnati area only. While the 12-week training program is virtual, candidates accepting the full-time opportunity must be willing to work onsite in our downtown Cincinnati location.
  • Capacity to participate full-time in the 12-week training program is required to pursue this opportunity. Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen prior to placement.
