BCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Java developer in Tarrytown, NY 10591

Roles and Responsibility

We are looking for candidates with programming experience in COBOL & JCL and a background in Java programming. Prior experience should include the development and maintenance of large scale systems that process hundreds of thousands of transactions daily and the associated financial settlement. Qualified candidates must have a firm understanding of Java and J2EE along with experience programming in COBOL and JCL. Outstanding oral, technical and written communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial setting is essential.

Required:

5+ years of hands-on software development experience.

Must be familiar with structured COBOL and JCL programming languages.

Must be familiar with Bootstrap, Struts framework and JavaScript

Work in a structured environment designing and developing java-based, enterprise class J2EE application solutions

Contribute to detailed design documentation (component diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.)

Review high-level and detailed designs for accuracy and completeness

Translate use cases, sequence diagrams, class diagrams into source code.

Work with QA/Test team to resolve deficiencies

A background with systems operating in a 24x7 production environment.

Experience in scripting and using source code control systems.

Relational database experience, Oracle preferred.

Demonstrated ability to meet schedules and multi-task across multiple projects.

Outstanding oral and written communications skills in both technical and client facing situations.

Individual must be a team player, receptive to new ideas and concepts and willing to embrace them when final determinations are made.

Preferred / Desired:

Experience with JavaScript (heavy), J2EE, IBM RAD 8.5 or higher, Eclipse Link, JMS, IBMs MQ Series, JAXB, Struts, and Web Services (Restful and WSDL based web services).

Experience with COBOL and JCL.

A background in large scale transaction processing and systems.

Experience working in a team environment where team members are geographically dispersed.

Education and Typical Years Experience

A BA / BS degree that is relevant to the position.

5+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java programming.
