Job Description:

Position Summary/Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL, DB2 & JCL to meet support and/or project requirements.

• Write clean, scalable code

• Develop technical interfaces, specifications, and architecture

• Interface with business and other teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code.

• Work with other support teams to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented

• Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.

• Responsible for full System Development Life Cycle
Adhere to security and control, and change control processes

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of development experience using COBOL and JCL

• 5+ years of development experience in DB2

• Understanding of Agile methodologies with story writing experience

• Knowledge of these tools or similar Mainframe tools: IDz (Cobol Debugger), MS Query, FILE Manager, IEBGENER, etc.

• Strong attention to detail

• Experience troubleshooting and debugging applications in a production support role

• Excellent analytical, software design and documentation skills

• Experience with the MS Office Suite of Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO)
Very strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills

• Development experience with MQ, CICS, SOLA and Native Stored Procedures

• Competency in SSRS would be a plus but not required

• Competency in JAVA a plus but not required

• BMC Software Administrative Products for DB2 a plus
Experience working on Merrill Lynch LPARS and Merrill mainframe tools
