Duration: 9 Months with a possibility of an extension
Travel: 5% Occasional or not at all. There might be times where the project requires traveling to work with the business. There would be reimbursement for any travel expenses would be provided

This Developer will be supporting one or more mainframe projects within the Parts Applications Division. These include supporting upcoming vehicle launches and various service replacement part supply chain projects. Tasks will include the following:

• Codes and performs unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
• Codes, tests, and debugs new software or makes enhancements to existing software
• Writes programs according to specifications from higher level staff or business analysts
• Develops technical documentation
• Resolves in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components
• Collaborates with technical staff to learn and understand software problems
• Generates a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques
• Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback
• Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
• Mentors and coaches less experienced staff
• Maximizes the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing, and auditing new software programs
• Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in house personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising, and training on specialized features and functions
• Follows established configuration/change control processes

Required Skills and Expertise:

• BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience with coding, testing, and design
• 3 to 5 years of experience with software development methodologies
• High proficiency with COBOL, JCL, and System Development Life Cycle Concepts.
• Technical aptitude of multi-tier and cross platform architectures across the enterprise
• Understanding in the information technology landscape stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards and trends
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodology.
• Strong capability in software construction, testing, infrastructure, configuration, and operating standards
• Strong corporate knowledge, and understands how a change would affect multiple applications
• Strong ability to make recommendations/decisions in application and program design, standards, and program enhancements
• Strong ability to utilize system traces and debugging tools for problem/issue resolution
• Strong ability to analyze and model business functions, processes, and information flow within or between systems
• Strong knowledge of software design, construction, programming trends, programming and scripting languages in multiple application and data management systems
• Working knowledge of software engineering, software development, solution architecture and implementation of medium to large scale systems across multiple platforms
• Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines across the enterprise Understanding of technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• Proficient in CICS, IMS, and VSAM, and DB2 is a plus
• Experience working in Microsoft development technologies ( i.e. .Net core, MVC.Net, C#, Angular) is a plus
• Knowledge or Automotive Parts Systems, Warehousing and Supply Chain is a plus.
