Description

The programmers are responsible for direct support of AMOS (Advanced Operating System) including internal functionality and interfaces with any external systems. Support includes development of user applications, bug fixes, and modification/enhancements to existing functions, testing, system documentation, and ad-hoc data gathering/queries.

Programmers support OEM Corporate users, OEM Parts Distribution Centers, MRC, and other Subsidiaries using U.S AMOS. Support may require coordination with the systems team at HQ. Support hours may extend beyond normal business hours at OEM Corporate offices in order to support users in different time zones and countries or coordinate with staff in Korea.

• Under limited supervision perform the functions of a Team Leader on small projects.
o Gather user requirements
o Develop design specification
o Program development
o Create test plans, test cases and perform unit, integration and parallel testing of all processes.
o Pretesting and bug fix prior to release for UAT
o Coordinate testing with client and verify accuracy of test results
o Perform quality control of programs and system changes prior to implementation
o Implement project installation to production
• Monitor daily operations, programs, batch processing and system processing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot daily operations, programs and system problems.
• Operation program & logic research and documentation.
• Provide support to AMOS operational staff for error resolution

MAJOR CHALLENGES AND KEY DECISIONS

  • The programmer is expected to operate within the policies and procedures established by OEM, LLC and adhere to generally accepted business practices.
  • Based on requirements defined by the business users and Systems Analysts the programmer is expected to independently develop new/modified programs to support the business need.
  • The programmer is expected to be sufficiently experienced with existing system functionality to identify any potential constraints/conflicts.
  • The programmer is required to independently research any systems issues/errors reported by users, recommend solutions, and promptly resolve to minimize any negative impact on daily functions, productivity, or service to OEMs customers.
  • The programmer is required to consult with supervisor and customer/user if the overall system flow needs to be modified or operation data should be modified directly to minimize the side effect on overall system operations. System changes should follow MOBIS system standard.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Computer Science Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required or equivalent combination of education and work experience and demonstrated skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

AS400 Programmer Requirements
• Minimum 4 – 6 years of system design/programming experience.
• Operating Systems: IBM i/OS
• Databases: DB2, SQL Stored Procedures and Functions
• Software & Languages: COBOL, RPG, CL, Scheduler, IFS, FTP, SQL, Microsoft Office, VISIO.
Java Programmer Requirements
• Minimum 4 – 6 years of system design/programming experience.
• Operating Systems: AIX, Websphere, Windows
• Databases: DB2, SQL Stored Procedures and Functions
• Software & Languages : Java, J2EE, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Eclipse, WebSphere, Microsoft office, VISIO, EZ VIEW, Change management Turnover, Hawkeye
