A Gobal Provider of Financial Services Technology Company is seeking a Cobol Programmer in Omaha, NE.

Role Description

• Partiipating in development activities with offshore resources.
• Preparing test plans for unit testing, regression testing, system and production parallel testing.
• Conducting technical walkthroughs with all stakeholders.
• Supporting UAT/System Testing and resolving any technical issues faced by QA.
• Coding and testing high priority and critical changes utilizing COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
• Handling Change Requests for implementing changes and owning them until closure.
• Providing emergency bug fixes to production issues and resolving client research requests.
• Providing production support by fixing batch process abnormal ends within strict SLAs.
• Meeting with project managers to provide daily or weekly project statuses.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• 5+ years of software development engineering experience
• Experience in JCL, COBOL, VSAM on IBM mainframes
• Source Management Tools (Endevor)
• Transmission Tools (FTP, Direct Connect)
• Job Scheduling (CA7)
• Application Production Support
• SyncSORT
• Easytrieve
• Restarts and recovery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in technical design writing and documentation
