Hourly Rate: $65 W2; $74 CTC/1099

 

Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist in maintaining the Tax and FARS systems and work on the Tax Modernization project including Data Cleansing and conversion. Two recent members of the team that were responsible for FARS retired. We need to have an additional resource to be able to provide adequate support for the FARS and Interface systems. In addition, we will need staffing to help with the Tax Modernization project.

**This position will be onsite for the duration of the engagement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of VSAM and Hierarchical database structures

Required Skills:

Technical knowledge and experience with mainframe technology. COBOL 10years, CICS 10 yrs, VSAM 10yrs, and

JCL (10yrs.)

• Knowledge and experience in converting data from one application to another (10 yrs.)
• Successful completion of technology projects within area of responsibility
• Analyzing feasibility, compatibility and cost of solutions
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Desired skills:

• Knowledge of FARS application
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to engage business experts in the purpose and use of data in the Benefit Payment Application

Required Skills:

• Technical knowledge and experience with VSAM files and relational databases (10 years) 
• Technical knowledge and experience with JCL (10 years)
• Knowledge and experience in transferring data sets from mainframe applications to Oracle / SQL based programs (10 years)
• Successful completion of technology projects within area of responsibility, analyzing feasibility, compatibility and cost of solutions (5 years)
• Ability to perform mainframe logic and decommissioning (5 years)
• Strong organizational skills (5 years)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (5 years)

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to engage business and technical experts in the cleansing and conversion of legacy data to Oracle (5 years) 
• Ability to engage business experts in the purpose and use of data in the Benefit Payment Application (5 years)
• Knowledge of FARS application (5 years)
