Kforce has a client in Omaha, NE that is seeking a COBOL Developer - Project Red.

Responsibilities:

• The COBOL Developer will develop program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications
• Performance tuning and testing of mainframe code, troubleshooting performance problems, preparing code for deployment and finishing all necessary SDLC documentation
• Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications
• Maintain, test and integrate application component
• As a COBOL Developer, you will provide recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code
• Analyze complex requirements and translates business requirements into product designs
• Write functional and technical specifications and other forms of documentation
• Conduct planning, analysis and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks
• Support will include analysis, development, testing, break-fix, and on-call duties as needed
• End-to-end application delivery in a multi-platform environment (mainframe, client server, web)
• Resolve complex and diverse issues by identifying underlying or hidden problems and patterns
• Adhere to standards and consults with leadership on solution design
• The COBOL Developer will create high quality, high value deliverables, and remains professional when under pressure
