We have an exciting opportunity for a Cobol / CICS / DB2 Programmer with MQ for our industry-leading financial client.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities of the Mainframe Programmer:

• Lead the technical design, development, integration, testing, installation, documentation, and maintenance of highly complex business applications
• Develop solutions to highly complex business and technical problems and coach technical staff on software development and tools
• Review, analyze, and modify programming systems
• Maintain and develop online and batch application programs
• Develop and implement a disaster recovery plan
• Work with project team to develop specifications, diagrams, and flowcharts

Requirements of the Mainframe Programmer:

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in Cobol, CICS , DB2, MQ required
• In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Extensive experience in technical applications and/or information systems, or equivalent
• Knowledge of programming languages
• Strong system design, software engineering, problem-solving, analytics, and research skills
• Experience with mainframe development or web preferred
